Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using KuTasks ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Application.

2. Offline-First Architecture & Data Responsibility

KuTasks is an offline-first, local-sovereignty application. Your tasks, notes, habits, projects, and personal data are stored exclusively on your device's local hardware storage. Consequently:

  • There is no remote cloud server backup maintained by the developers.
  • You are solely responsible for creating and maintaining regular backups of your data using the Application's built-in export and backup utilities (Markdown, CSV, JSON, and SQLite database snapshots).
  • The developers shall not be liable for any loss of data resulting from hardware failure, operating system reinstallation, accidental deletion, or app uninstallation.

3. Peer-to-Peer Synchronization

The Application allows local network synchronization over Wi-Fi. It is your responsibility to ensure that the local Wi-Fi networks you connect to are trusted and secure when pairing devices.

4. License and Intellectual Property

KuTasks is provided under open-source software principles. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the software on your devices in accordance with the terms of the project repository.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As-Is")

The Application is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the developers of KuTasks be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Application.
